These bears were variations of the Bear Of The Month (BOTM) hidden amongst the tamper-resistent brown boxes that would either contain the standard bear or the rarer "Golden Shower" variation. In 2008 when the BOTMs were packaged in clear Acetate boxes, the box contained a sealed golden ticket that either won the collector a free golden shower variation or just contained a collector card. Initially these variations were just the standard bear with parts of it painted in gold (such as Anna Tommy), then later they evolved to being in different colours from the original or with slight variations in the design of the bear (such as Lucky Jack). In a couple of instances the golden shower bear has been a totally different bear (such as Sinclair). These bears were also released as part of the Collectors Edition Sets but did not contain numbered discs on them. Other than the silver discs (which were discontinued in 2008) they are exactly the same as the CE Sets. These versions are often prized because the silver discs on the CE set versions were often in distracting places on the figurine.
